15,000 sq. ft. of house and garage wrapped in stone...The Castle

The Castle
The Castle

The south side of the house was actually the entrance to the garage at the first floor. The entrance to the house is on the east side at the second floor facing Lake Sherwood.

Garage
Garage

A 4,500 sq. ft. garage lies at the heart of this Castle. It's fully air conditioned with porcelain tile flooring. Both ends are finished with mirror walls, wood wainscot and big screen TV's. The groin vault ceiling has a venetian plaster finish, spectacular!

Connecting the Entry Foyer at the second floor with the Lounge/Game Room on the first floor. One of two ways into the house from the Garage.

Kitchen
Kitchen

The original design of this home was to be a traditional Tuscan style. However, I worked with the interior designer to change that to a more current "Transitional" style Tuscan. The color scheme and finish materials definitely reflect that.

This home is looking more like a castle from an adjoining hilltop.

Plants are arriving ready for landscaping.

Exterior Stone
Exterior Stone

The exterior stone work on this build turned out so fantastic, you would think it's real. ELDORADO STONE can't wait to photograph this

A sample of the three color tile blend was set up at the roof for approval.

Stone work at the Entry is looking great!

Wrap it Up
Wrap it Up

Exterior doors and windows are installed and now it is time to wrap the house and begin the stone work.

Interior Stone
Interior Stone

The interior stone work is just as spectacular as the exterior but with a more refined feel and look about it.

Low Voltage Wiring
Low Voltage Wiring

Increasingly more important, estate sized homes need to be smart homes. This type of wiring allows the owner to communicate and control house functions using the phone.

Framing
Framing

Spectacular framing included the biggest groin vault I have ever seen...in the Garage!

Framing
Framing

Framing is about 90% complete and mechanical installations have started.

Building BIG!
Building BIG!

Another arc Design Group project I became involved with in 2016.

Building BIG!
Building BIG!

The massive retaining walls, structural steel and grading were mostly complete when I was asked to take on this project.

Structural Steel

The sun is out and the crane is here...it's a good day.

Crane Activity
Crane Activity

A crane is necessary to set the large beams needed to install the floor joists.

First floor framing progressing to the point that structural wood beams can be installed for the second floor joists.

Retaining Walls
Retaining Walls

These retaining walls, with tree wells, allowed the architect to position the front of the house facing the lake (to the right, unseen) instead of facing the street. It supports the driveway to the front of the house.
